Military Veterans Geoscience Scholarship Program
Supporting the men and women who served our country as they pursue careers in the geosciences.
Scholarship Details
The Foundation awards scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 to cover the cost of attending a four-year accredited college or university. Scholarships are available to both active U.S. military service members (including National Guard and Reserve) or veteran members separated from active military service who have been honorably discharged and are entering or re-entering a post-secondary undergraduate program in a field of geoscience full time or part time. Eligibility also includes military dependents (spouses and children) for the following categories: deceased, disabled, active and veteran.
Grant recipients have the option to re-apply the following year without restriction.
Applications accepted February 1 through April 30.
Eligibility
- Active U.S. Military service members, including National Guard and Reserve
- OR honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces
- Currently pursuing or planning to pursue postsecondary undergraduate education
- Field of study must be in geoscience or a related geoscience discipline
How to Apply
We've made it easy:

- Provide email addresses for both your Project Supervisor and your Department Chair. Once you submit your application, they will be emailed a link to endorse your application.
Awards are announced approximately two months after application deadline.
